Date Created: 06/04/2004; Date Ratified: 26/05/2004
Author: Kylie Davies; Contributor and Editor: Con Validas

Overview

This policy outlines who can be issued with a key to the Computerbank Victoria building.

Who does this Policy Cover?

This policy covers all volunteers and staff working at Computerbank Victoria.

Policy

In order to perform certain tasks or functions, some people at Computerbank Victoria will be issued keys to access the building. The following reasons are considered valid:

  • You have volunteered to be on our roster as a person who 'absolutely has to turn up'
  • You are a lead trainer
  • You are a staff member
  • You need access to the building in order to attend to systems or perform office/administration duties
  • You need regular access to the building as you pick up donations outside our usual hours

Volunteers that fit within the above categories, upon request and within reason, can be issued with keys to the Computerbank Victoria building at 92 Rosslyn St, West Melbourne.

All key holders should become familiar with the Computerbank Victoria Security Policy for Key Holders. Upon receipt of keys, volunteers and staff are required to sign the key holder register held by the State Coordinator.

Where staff or volunteers cease to require building access they are requested to hand their keys in as soon as possible. Upon doing this the State Coordinator should update the key register.

Computerbank Victoria incurs a cost for the purchase of keys given to key holders. In the event where Computerbank Victoria does not receive keys from key holders who no longer require them, a change of door locks on the premises may be required. Additional costs for the issuance of new keys to key holders will be incurred as a result. Compliance with this policy is designed to eliminate such a situation arising.
