Coordinators Report for February and MarchGeneral News Busy, Busy, Busy! Computers are moving out really quickly, just look at the numbers. Big
thanks to Jan, Allan and others for helping to get
the word out, I think this has helped a lot. The other thing that seems to be pushing up the numbers is the move to providing them to anyone who has a concession card. I have noticed a lot of low income families buying a second computer. While a lot of people install Windows, those who stick with Linux are pleasantly suprised. We've even had some calls from people wanting to buy Linux computers. I guess this is a good sign. I should also mention another big thanks to Jan,
Allan, Rob, Barry and Darce for doing great things across donations,
documentation, websites, front desk, user support and the training area. It is also good to
see new people helping regularly with the front desk. Big thanks to Tony for improving my office with a door. John recently got a full time job working on the help desk of an ISP, we miss having him around and still hope to see him from time to time. Barry is stepping up to maintain the distribution. Con is with us for a
month or so before he jets off to the UK looking for work and
somewhere warm to stay. Con plans to help with the database
rejuvenation project and might tinker around in the build room too. In last months report I
forgot to mention that Community Media Services won a server for
making a documentary of our Software Freedom Day event. You can check
it out from
