Documentation and Websites report Jan 2007

Silva Documentation Site
Jessica has been transferring the old archives of minutes from the old Computerbank site.  This has been a long tedious thankless job.  She is very nearly finished this which is excellent.  The minutes date from 1999 to the present day.

Tip:  When adding existing text to the Silva site add it via the forms editor, then go the the Kupu editor to fine tune any formatting gremlins.  Usually the forms editor fixes them all.

Computerbank's Plone General Site
No new maintenance issues.
We get a lot of people in our shop who have found us via our website.  Two people who bought computers last week, said a friend found us on the Internet.
We keep the shop page up to date usually on a weekly basis.

Documentation

Minor updates to the Linux Guide by Kylie

Flyer update

Application Form update

Computers in Stock data is held on the Front Desk Computer.  This changes as we sell machines and build new ones.  It would be nice to capture the stock we have sold in some way.  So we can see which machines configurations are the most popular.

Computerbank's pricing grid is also on the Front Desk Computer as this document usually lasts a couple of months before updating I will put it on the documentation site.  There could be value in having a print out of this in the shop so pesky customers can see how we price our machines. (We have had a few cases of people asking question after question and spending 20 minutes or more in the shop and then choosing a machine and asking for a discount.  They are denied a discount)

Outstanding
The Front Desk procedures need better documentation.  I will work on these in the next month.

Computerbank's Map
People are still saying they find our building hard to find.  We are rethinking the Map with a view to including the Victoria Market and a clearer idea of where we are compared to the city.

I may have left some completed new docs off this list - please let me know if I have ~ Jan
